Fire Island number 24

Fire Island number 16

I’ve got a whole series of these coming up. I am in love with the bleached out textures of the wood and the sand and the flora on Fire Island. When I first got off the ferry, I began to wonder if I should have brought some color film, but I am extremely glad I stuck with black and white. The island would look gorgeous in color, but I am very happy with the way these b&w images came out, and will probably go back to do some more.

It was a beautiful day on Watch Hill last Sunday.

Central Park

I had a lot of time to kill in Central Park this weekend. My wife and I tried to get tickets to Shakespeare in the Park, but were unsuccessful. It was a beautiful day, nonetheless, and I got to take quite a few Holga shots. This one is classic Holga: underexposed, blurry, vignetted…nice! I finally managed to get rid of all of those light leaks. It took a lot of tape.

Prospect Park, December 2006

Yesterday was a great day to be in Prospect Park. A rolling fog came in and covered the whole lake. Except for the sounds of the geese and ducks, it was so quiet – as if the fog drowned out all the traffic and other nonsense of the city.
