I am very happy to report that one of my photos is featured on Flak Photo today. Those of you who are familiar with Flak Photo know what a thrill that is. If you don’t know about Flak Photo already, what are you doing still reading this? Flak Photo is a photography blog that publishes new work from contemporary photographers every weekday, with specially curated selections on the weekends, and the selected work is consistently excellent. If you like photography you should definitely be subscribed to their RSS and email list.
I woke up this morning to find quite a few emails from people interested in subscribing to the Print-of-the-Month-Club. I’m thrilled! I’ve decided to go ahead with it, so here’s how it will work:
A new limited edition print is released monthly. Prints will be available to the general public, but subscribers are guaranteed access to the edition and get a discount. New subscriptions start with the currently available print, unless you request otherwise. Anyone who has already ordered a print and would like to subscribe instead should let me know—I will be glad to incorporate the cost of the first print into a subscription for you.
I may re-evaluate the pricing and edition sizes at at some point, depending on the number of subscribers that join. Subscribers will always pay less and have guaranteed access to the editions, but I want to try to keep a few prints available to non-subscribers as well.
And one more thing: I realize that every once in a while I may release a print that not everyone is interested in. As a subscriber, you are also entitled to skip a month if the print isn’t to your liking. I will be sending an email out each month to subscribers with details of the edition, so just reply to the email if you don’t want the print that month. me before subscribing. Your subscription will include an additional shipping fee.
I am going to keep working on this and try to come up with other ways to reward subscribers. I’m thinking about editions that are limited to subscribers only, gift sets/folios, and anything else that keeps this fun and interesting. Let me know in the comments if you have any ideas!

I was reading about Edward Weston the other day and became inspired. He once ran a “Print-of-the-Month-Club,” where members were sent a print each month for $5. He never got more than 11 subscribers, can you imagine?
I’m no Edward Weston, but I will be offering affordable editions of one new print each month for the next several months—please spread the word! I would be glad to offer a discount to anyone willing to subscribe for more than one month. : )

My picture of the day comes from my wife, MaryAnne. She took this photo for her shop window blog, with her iPhone no less. This is just gorgeous, I can’t wait to print it.
