Vacation

I am leaving the heat of New York City for the heat of Sicily for a couple of weeks, so this is likely to be my last post before I go. I should have lots of exposed film when I return, but I won’t be posting very many photos right away. If all goes well, I will be printing the photos from this trip in platinum/palladium in the fall and creating a nice portfolio. That will be fun to watch, I am sure that learning platinum and palladium will give me lots to blog about when I get back.

See you in July!

    Ciao, Massimo,
My wife has family in Sicily and I love it there. We will be in Siracusa for a few days at the end of June. I’ll email you and see if it makes sense to meet up!

Hey Seth, thanks. I will definitely post a good summary of the trip with a few teaser photos when I get back. I’ve never heard of Bob Thall I will look him up.

I would love to find out about the simple platinum/palladium process, the version I’m looking at looks kind of complicated. Special chemicals, coating your own paper, UV lights… I think it’s going to cost me some $$ to get set up, and a lot of time.

    Cheers,

    Dalton,

I haven’t been able to find much of his work online unfortunately. But one of his books is called: The New American Village and it features Chicago Cityscapes and Suburban life. I found some photos from it in Google Books. Its a good book.

Yeah I did some more research on the process and costs but sadly its quite out of my range and i do not want to mess with those chemicals after reading about them! I was also looking into Kallitype printing. Its cheaper and a similar process but its not archival which is a bummer.
