Raymond Meeks

I discovered the work of Raymond Meeks today via Exposure Compensation. I’m not planning to link to photographers I see on other people’s sites very often (Miguel does such a good job of sharing interesting new work, I’ll just leave it up to him), but if you take a look at the image below I think you’ll see why I couldn’t resist:

This is one of those images that just spoke to me, on such a deep level, it took my breath away. It reminds me very much of the first time I saw one of Beth Dow’s photographs. (I promise I won’t mention Beth Dow in every single post of my inaugural first week of blogging, but surely you can see the similarity?)

Raymond Meeks’ work is on display right now at the Candace Dwan Gallery in New York. You can bet your bowl of sugar I am going to catch that show.
