Mill Basin, Brooklyn
Here are a few new photos from the Outer Lands series. I have really enjoyed working with color film these last couple of weeks; there are photos I have not taken in the past because I knew they just wouldn’t work in black and white. There is a certain kind of subtlety that gets lost in black and white, and it has been a fun challenge to try to capture it.
I have been thinking about renting a boat rowing my way out to Jamaica Bay. If you have some free time, you might enjoy this episode of This American Life, wherein a young man and his friends get drunk and lost out on the bay, with Manhattan visible in the distance the whole time. I’ll cross my fingers and hope I find my way back without too much trouble.

Wow. The color does work well here. I quite like the top image of Mill Basin (the subtlety of the color), and the first Fire Island capture. Great stuff.
It’s fun to see how your photos contrast between b/w and color. The first Fire Island capture is just great
These images are sublime. The whole series resonates for me. I look forward to new images from your project. Best of luck.
